Working as the first student in the Smart Fluid System Lab with Professor Daniel Quinn, researching bio-inspired high performance underwater vehicle design with a Multidisciplinary University Research Initiative (MURI) team, including the creation of dynamic stiffness control law, proof of unsteady ground effects and development of a 3D flow diagnostics method.

Worked with Professor Haibo Dong in the Flow Simulation Research Group to study biomechanics and fluid dynamics of bioinspired propulsion, including the creation of in-house solver to simulate passive pitching of insect fly, cicada banked turn and fin-fin interaction of tuna swimming.
